Iroha Irohazaka (いろは
He's a student from class 1-A, after winning the Class Leading Private Selection Exam he became the Class 1-A Leading Private, later after winning the Gradewide Leader Tournament he would become the gradewide leader of the first year and finally, after traveling through the Cipher Academy Metaverse, he would become the code emperor.
Appearance[]
Iroha is a teenage boy with orange hair and round, gold eyes. His hairstyle resembles a bob cut, while his bangs are tied to the left with a hair tie which are white with blue interior squares on it. He is quite short in stature and has a slim build.
Iroha is usually seen in the Cipher Academy's standard uniform.
When solving codes, Iroha ties his hair up using the hair tie given to him by Tayu Yugata, and dons one of the glasses weapons that Kogoe Horagatoge made for Class 1-A in the early chapters. His glasses have rectangular frames with a camera on the nose bridge, allowing Kogoe to see everything he is doing. The glasses weapon helps Iroha crack any code thrown at him. Iroha also holds one of the 10 of the glasses weapons that allow Class 1-A to enter the Digital Cipher Academy.
Personality[]
Iroha is very lively, warm, outgoing, compassionate and energetic. His catchphrase is "It's elementary!"「いろはのい, Iroha-No-I」. He enjoys reading a lot and his best subjects are P.E. and Music. His favorite food is udon, and his favorite type of Baumkuchen is white.
Throughout the story, Iroha is shown to care deeply about his friends, such as the time when he confronted Iesuno Nohime to remove Kyora Toshusai's punishment and when he offered to be a great friend to Tayu Yugata when learnt of her past.
He is also very level-headed, fair and has good observing skills as despite noticing Iesuno Nohime was going blind, he didn't take advantage of her condition. This is further explained when Iroha was asked by Nohime for his reason of doing so, he replied "Even if I was trampled on by someone, I would never be willing to step onto the wrong path."
Iroha is also a pacifist, shown through his dream to end all wars in the world.
Background[]
He was a cheerleader at middle school that had to participate in a refugee camp after a tournament. They were then attacked by thieves and all his male classmates have died except for him since the thieves thought he was girl and he kept happily dancing till rescue arrived.[3]
He is also an excellent dancer and has an explosive handling license.[4]

Iroha's surname is most likely taken from Irohazaka a pair of winding roads located in the Tochigi Prefecture, while his name Iroha is more notoriously taken from the popular Japanese poem that uses all syllables from the Japanese language.
