Tayu Yugata (タ (ゆう) 方 (がた) 多 (た) 夕 (ゆう) , Yūgata Tayū^?) is a major character in Nisio Isin's manga series, Cipher Academy, illustrated by Yuji Iwasaki. She is a student of Class 1-A.

Tayu is usually seen in the Cipher Academy's standard uniform.

Personality

Tayu is a mysterious person since it is not known what exactly she thinks. Some people may consider her a threatening person due to her lack of expression most of the time. She is an intelligent person on Kyora's level. Despite her mysterious and intimidating attitude, Tayu is a very loyal person to her friends and she usually has a special affection towards people who have supported her.

Background

She is a childhood friend of Nohime and Kyora since their parents wanted to forge a relationship in the future. When she was 5 years old, she exposed her father which would cause a scandal and he would end up going to jail. Tayu was determined to push away all of her friends and family, but Kyora suggested for her to become her little sister. In an attempt to push her away, Tayu refused, forcing Kyora to ask her to become her maidservant so they wouldn't be separated.
